ISRAELI-INTERNATIONAL CERTIFIED INNOVATION MANAGER

Israeli-International Certified Innovation Manager

The Israeli-International Certified Innovation Manager (IICIM) is a professional who has the ability to design, implement and improve an innovation management system that meets the requirements of ISO 56000 series, with interface to other rules and standards as well as legal requirements.They know the main tools and methods for developing, maintaining, and improving the innovation management system and can apply them within a team. 

The Certification guidelines detailed in this guide, are compliant with the requirements of the European Organization for Quality EOQ–CS-56000-2024 and EOQ-CoS-56000-2024 (as applicable to Innovation Manager).

Prerequisites for Initial Certification

The candidate for IICIM certification (Innovation Manager) shall have generic knowledge and skills on a level which can be usually achieved by a university / higher education degree and additionally a minimum full-time work-place experience of 4 years, including at least 2 years in the field of innovation management. They shall have specific knowledge and skills and be familiar with the ISO 56000 family of standards and competent in innovation management methods and techniques based on specific training, related at least to the topics of Body of Knowledge

IICIM Examination

Each certification candidate is required to pass two part examination:

  • A written (multi choice)- paper and pencil or computerized online video proctored, open books, examination that consists of 40 multiple-choice questions that measure comprehension of the body of knowledge. This part is scheduled for 90 minutes.
  • An open questions written presentation/solution of a case study. Based on a case description the candidate shall prepare a presentation of a possible solution of a problem or a task as described in the text. This part is scheduled for approximately 40 minutes 

The examination questions and problems will be selected in accordance with the topics in Body of Knowledge.

The examinations are offered in two languages: English and Hebrew.

Examination "Pass" Criteria

Candidates will pass the written examination and the case problem solution and be eligible for IICIM Certificate if they answer correctly on total of 60% of the questions without missing a question in any topic and receive at least 70% evaluation in the case problem solution from two examiners. 

If the candidate will fail to pass this examination, he will not gain the Certificate, 

Europeaan Organization for Quality (EOQ) "Innovation Manager" Registration

Additionally, IIQIE members holding a valid IICIM certification, with an academic degree/high school diploma, who have undergone relevant professional training at an IIQIE-approved educational institution, will be entitled to registration in the EOQ database and receive the applicable EOQ Innovation Manager certificate.

Recertification process

The certification granted by IIQIE is valid for a period predefined by the certification scheme (usually three years). Maintaining the IIQIE certification is crucial to the

certified person professional growth. It demonstrates his continuing commitment to innovation management initiatives and methodologies, provides him with enhanced career opportunities, and in some cases, could be a requirement from his current employer.

To maintain the integrity of the certification, IIQIE requires that the certified person recertify before the validity of the certification is revoked. IIQIE will grant six

months grace if an application has been submitted.

It should be emphasized that the recertification is based upon proof of continuous employment and progress in the certification topics during the certfication period.
